Two-time Champion Lelisa Desisa of Ethiopia returned to the streets of Boston this weekend to run the BAA Boston Half Marathon. Desisa was looking to write his name into athletics history once again with a win at the event and better his own Course Record of 60:34 set in the event in 2013; but a cold, rainy and windy day proved too tough of an opponent! Desisa ran bravely to finish in the top-15 of the event.
His ERT teammate Bosena Mulatie of Ethiopia; who boasts a personal best of 65:46 over the Half Marathon distance; was a little more successful on the day as she made her USA road racing debut here in Boston; just missing victory as she was nipped at the line in a spring finish; and had to settle for a silver medal placing! The World Championships finalist was very proud of her efforts on the day; and expressed that she was excited to return to the event in the future and claim victory one day!
