Spring Marathon Round-Up

Elite Running Team and Elite Sports Marketing & Management have had a highly successful Spring Marathon season, including multiple wins, course records, and numerous podiums.

At the World Marathon Majors, Chalu Deso secured a well-deserved win in Tokyo, followed by Alemu Mergertu’s impressive second-place finish in London, with both races coming down to a thrilling sprint finish. Unfortunately, Alemu was beaten to the win by, Sifan Hassan, a renowned track athlete with exceptional speed in the final stages of the race.

In Boston, we had a strong group of athletes, including Gotytom Gebreslase, the reigning Marathon World Champion, who finished 10th in a competitive field. Sadly, her build-up was affected by the tragic death of her brother just three weeks before the race. Shura Kitata and Boston’s beloved Lelisa Desisa also competed in Boston. Lelisa was honored by the Boston Marathon Association and the City of Boston for his historic win ten years ago, during the year of the Boston Marathon bombing.
